These are non combat jobs, the old ones are still back.

Except for the merchant tree thats obviously been moved in non combat. Theres 8 non combat jobs and the combat ones are
Swordman
-> Knight (same old prontera knight)
-> Fighter (I dunno, says this class will show some 'power' in battle..?)

Magician
-> Wizard (same old wizard with powerful magic attacks)
-> Elementalist (understands elemental..so like sage i guess)

Acolyte
-> Priest
-> Monk

Rogue
-> Thief (I know it sounds strange, but this is what it says.)
-> Assassin

Archer
-> Ranger (After archer learns some techniques from elves)
-> Hunter (who survives better)

Translations might not be accurate.

No crus/paladin and no bard/dancer I'm okay with this.

As of now very little info has been out, no screen shots or videos, but considering this is gravity we'll probably have to wait a year or so. Yeah I do think RO2 is too little to late most other BIG MMOs with outshine it by a mile but considering it's going to be F2P I'll at least try it. I'm also in the kRO2 beta in 48days so I'll post info etc....

As for Blade and Soul, I wasn't hyped about it at all I have to say but yeah it seems the hype has died in the face of things like Guild Wars 2 and FFXIV...

I'm not really hyped about mabinogi 2 to be honest but it looks like a mix of monster hunter and deamon's souls, if it turns out to be like that it will be pleasantly surprised. And I'll probably play it.


Also about the RO2 hype, I'm the only one making it no one else seems to be interested and think what I said above, medicore too late game that will never be as good as it predecessor.

Old RO2 has been scraped, the new RO2 more like RO1 it's 3D, it is going closed beta in 53 days. If you have an old Open Beta account you can get in 100% just register on the website.

Here some old news for you
They've gone back to the basics. They scrapped the new systems; the stupid character bound weapon leveling system, the new classes and skills systems, the new stats system, the dimago/ellr/norman race and etc.

Returning are the card system, pet system, the stats system, the old class system: Swordsman/Knight, Mage/Wizard, Archer/Hunter, Thief, Acolyte/Priest (unfortunately, the merchant class does not return). RO2 will have some new contents too such as a more balanced dueling/pvp system, living system, weaving and much more. RO2 is no longer a separate game from RO1 but a true sequel.

Classes appear to be redesigns from RO1 instead of fresh new designs. This is a good thing since it retains the feel and flavor of RO1.

They also have a new artist (looks nothing like the work of MJL) and the art is absolutely gorgeous. (check out the official site for larger pics)

Instead of just keeping a Poring while redesigning every other monster in and call it RO2, the new RO2 now has old monsters that return in glorious 3D. These are the monsters we know and have grown to love. It is truly an RO sequel.

Yoko Kanno (music composer) is still on the project, and her music is still mesmerizing. You can hear a glimpse of one of her new soundtracks on the official site.

The current RO2 servers will shut down on August 2nd. The new RO2 Closed Beta testing will begin on August 31st.
