Again, Go to the place that you are applying for and show how eager you are to work for them, take some time to get to know the business as well. Businesses want people who are loyal and hard workers.
Also, if you look like a homeless man, then you will BE a homeless man; get a fucking razor or rent a cheap ass suit, cheap ass cologne, and get to that fucking interview and show them a man.
Most companies will understand how many people that are applying are down on their luck , but it all about how hard you want that job, their money that they will pay you to do a good job.
