Medicine can enjoy her flowers all year long with a greenhouse.

It was a massive room, stretching much further than any room I'd expected. The windows immediately next to the door we'd entered from also had stained glass, though this was more traditional and consisted of coloured pieces surrounded by lead cames. The walls all the way down were clear glass, and the ceiling was also made of glass, though the very centre was a translucent white. And most importantly, the room was filled with plants. Everything I could imagine, from bluebells to foxtrots, red spider lilies to red camellia. I only knew those because each plant was meticulously labelled, despite the entire room feeling more like being in a wild garden rather than an indoor room. Ever colour I could imagine was represented here, and I imagined that trying to understand everything I was seeing would take me a very long time. Yamame looked very amazed too, because her mouth was hanging open slightly and she was staring, wide-eyed, at everything around her. "Miss Kazami, this is beautiful..." She mumbled breathlessly. Seeing an opportunity to make up slightly for all the times that she had taken care of me, I prodded her in the side and reminded her to breathe.

Miss Yuuka led us through the botanical garden. "Don't touch that one. It's poisonous to humans." She told me, indicating a fiery-orange plant that I kept my hands away from. Eventually, she reached a part of the room with slightly more space, where there was a table with four chairs, and another large plant in the centre. "Sit." She told us, and I sat without really thinking. After a moment, Yamame joined me. "Would you like some tea?" She asked us, and we nodded. It was a change from Miss Yuuka's usual personality of being very direct, but I wouldn't say it was unwelcome. Miss Yuuka disappeared for a few moments, but then returned with a tray on which sat three cups and a teapot. She placed two of the cups in front of us and then sat down at the round table.

"Um, are these all yours, Miss Kazami?" Yamame asked, taking a delicate sip of her tea. I followed suit and found it to be rather delicious.

"Just Yuuka." Miss Yuuka replied.

"Um, Yuuka-"

Miss Yuuka's sharp eyes caught Yamame in their gaze, "Miss Yuuka. And yes, these plants are under my care."

"Th-They're beautiful, Miss Yuuka." Yamame stammered slightly, and I grasped her hand tightly underneath the table. The impression that Yuuka Kazami had given me was that she was perfectly pleasant as long as she was not trifled with. Obey her rules, and you'd be fine. Break them, and...Well, you'd probably be feeding the flowers. "I, um, wanted to ask...Why are they still in full bloom at this time of year? And the sunflowers outside, too..."

"All that grows in the fields of the Garden of the Sun are exceptionally hardy. The recent incident during which the Garden of the Sun became permanently locked in the height of Summer has contributed to this, and the effects have been slow to fade. The plants outside will wither by the time Winter truly begins, but the ones in here are kept at the perfect temperatures and climates to thrive." She smiled, and I caught sight of her perfect, yet sharp-looking teeth. "I am very careful with those under my care." She told us. "I wish to understand what kept you from answering me when I asked you why you had made no effort to visit me." Miss Yuuka told me, her eyes now boring into me. "I returned to your home once, and it was being used by a youkai from the underground. Can you explain this?" She asked me, slightly more gently than she had acted outside. I paused again, because really, it was a very long story. "Judging from the look upon your face, human, there is more to this than I yet understand." I nodded and remarked that saying that was probably an understatement.

Still, I supposed, I could do my best. I took a sip of my tea and began trying to work out how to best go about explaining why I had been absent for so long. In the end, I decided to stick to Eientei, and skip all the other details for new.

Besides, if Shameimaru found out that I'd explained my entire life story to someone other than her, she might make good on her threat to kidnap me for the other tengu on the mountain.
