What do you mean by "pander herself sexually"? You make it sound like she spreads her legs for them. Her "fishing" is just her being more aggressive with her "largely innocent, childish" character (and she sucks hard at it). And her character didn't change after her first gravure. It's the same character, which just became more externally visible as she got more airtime. It was always there.

Fair call, that is how it comes across. But I suggest you don't take these competitions entirely on face value. Read her G+, read the girls she's friends with's G+s, watch the videos of her interacting with people normally, etc.

I'm not a Komi oshi, I just follow Team 4 a lot, so I don't care too deeply what you think of her, but following idols gets really fun when you lose the shallow view and try to look more closely at everyone and understand them. Most (publicly viewable) interactions between members occur in member made videos and comments on G+, and it really helps you grasp a girl's nature when you view a lot of these.
