The stuff about TD you wrote seems to be correct. It's mostly the newer fans that dislike the TD cast and claim that they "don't fit into touhou" despite being a lot more eastern related than Utsuho.

I don't mind those that like her and don't act like morons though. Sadly this seems to be a minority excactly like with Cirno and Flandre. I thought Utsuho was an interesting character until everyone and their mother only wrote about her "LOL NUKE POWERZ XDDD" and other powerlevel bullshit.
