To be quite honest, the first time I 1CC'd EoSD (and most games) I'm so conservative with bombs that I will oftentimes die before using any bombs. I try not to bomb whore everything and thereby practice instead of saying "fuuuuuck it". I got to the point where I could safely lost only one life using no bombs in the first 4 stages. When you are that far ahead and you're starting stage 5 with 6 lives and 3 bombs, then you can bomb whore just to say you've 1CC'd the game. But I recommend playing practice mode on stage 5 and 6 until you can beat it (or at least almost beat it within last 1 or 2 spellcards). By that time, you should be able to know which spell cards, and nonspells, you can beat without using a bomb and just whore the rest.
