This. You need 3 M12s + 1 Regular for AS+ on first node but 2 M12s + 2 Regular are enough. Zuiun mule is effective because you'll never be screwed if you get the sub. You're sacrificing shelling power of one ship but since it's 3rd ship in attack order it doesn't make a big difference. Ise can still take out or at least chuuha lighter armored enemies.
