I mean it's more that Shiki was the first boy that she ever interacted with for a long time due to her studious background. It's just strange that she didn't seem to care as much about Roastbeef as she should've when she described that the knight that protected her died in the story mode before she was added later on. Wonder if the new Melty Blood story will change this to make it a bigger vocal point of her deeply caring about Riesbyfe in a more romantic/important way.
