The writer didn't get the balance of comedy and serious right. It's kinda the Noratoto thing, just even worse as all routes are affected. If you can get past that, it's fun I guess?
I really felt that the writer messed up the plot just with the concept alone already. In my opinion you really can't use the same themes and/or villains for comedy and serious parts. There needs to be a clear line. Most of this issue is in the routes, but you can kinda see it coming, if you look at Karin's initial behavior in common. First she is handled as if it's serious, and then a switch is flipped and everything about her stuff is looked at like a joke. You can't switch the flip back, if you ask me.
