Humans become ghosts, who then go to hell or are reborn. Some of them ascend to become celestials and live in heaven. (Usually happens when a family member becomes a god, such as with Tenshi)

Fairies and other aspects of Nature constantly die and are reborn. Their fate is tied to that of the world.

The Immortals also resurrect when they die. But they will never stop doing so.

Youkai just disappear.

Also, who's to say that raising that tree for the express purpose of bringing you joy meant nothing to her? I'm pretty sure my short life span hurts her far more than the fact that she's merely lending me some of her years hurts me. ;_;
