Being a "shitter" is entirely a mindset. The vast majority of achievements in this genre can be achieved with sufficient effort alone - and touhou lunatic is definitely no exception. It will take some people longer than others, but the greatest indicator of success will always be willpower. Whether through luck or through practice, I guarantee you that you will get your clear as long as you put in the hours. Just be prepared to fail, and fail often. The better question you should be asking yourself is not if you are capable of doing something, but if its something you truly want to do outside of whatever you think doing the run will prove to you. Learn to enjoy the grind.
As for the fighting games, I don't play them but from what I have seen touhou hisoutensoku is the most popular and widely played game. /vm/ should have more information to help you out.
