Sorry for the late reply, I spent most of the day napping.

For events I'm not getting the 5*, I just play whenever I can and try to be efficient with my BP. Though, there are times where I left my BP at full for hours. Also, don't forget to use your whistles/megaphones.
When aiming for the event 5*, I just double my playtime, adding dia to the mix. I typically start out using 3 BP per live, then 6 BP later on if needed. In rare cases, I end up using 10 BP per live because I'm way behind. Try to stay above 11k for rankings, as that's where other players who are getting the 5* are at.
