Leyline series is one occasion where I've actually been a little mad about a bro not getting himself a girl. All the male side characters are likeable, and the second game introduces a new girl who the protagonist doesn't have any probable romantic involvement with. A plot point knits the said girl and one male side character closely together for the majority of the game, with both showing concern for each other and they instantly became my OTP, only for the third game to water it all down and nonchalantly add "oh well looks like he isn't actually interested in her that way ;)", probably because the developers didn't want to risk upsetting imouto loving fans despite the girl not being a fuckable heroine.

>And to me the ideal high school experience is to have a balanced group of friends, not just a group of girls
Girls Be Ambitious' had a good setup like this, and I'd be recommending it if not for the game ditching lighthearted comedy in favor of boring drama later in the actual routes. Protag's group consisted of him, his 3 male friends and a childhood friend girl, with the other three heroines attending the walled "rich kids only" part of the school.

In regard to bros finding love Erena route touched upon it nicely, though it's only a few lines in one scene or so and it's not like they follow it up later on. The heroine of the route basically sets up a meeting between her friends and the protagonist's group of friends so the rich and normal folk can socialize better, with the nerd friend, armed with his chuuni knowledge managing to strike up a conversation about Zoroastrianism with a well educated young lady. The girl is spriteless, but other CG in the game show that the spriteless rich girls are all practically pretties like the proper heroines. Not a big thing, but it really brought a smile to my face.
