He has some charm, and he can sound good, but Append is when he really started sounding consistently good. And V4 is basically just Append but better, it's more versatile and he can really use some of the V4 features like growl better than a good number of other voicebanks

Just a matter of taste I guess. I tend to prefer the more "realistic" vocaloids and basically couldn't listen to Len's first two voicebanks, it sounded too "unintentionally robotic" and the pronunciation was bad enough to take me out of the song, most of the time.

His Append and V4 can be tuned in a robotic manner as well however, and IMO I prefer the way it sounds over the regular V2 (same goes for Rin, actually):
