It's worth knowing that the daily quests reset at 4AM JST, so be sure to get their rewards before that (especially the one that gives you a stamina nectar for running 3 searches, these accumulate very fast and will essentially give you infinite stamina after a while), and same with weekly quests on Monday. But you don't need to go out of your way to complete these quests, since you'll finish most by just playing regularly, and the cost for not doing them is not very high. I don't touch the raid battle weeklies during non-raid events, for example, even though they reward a useful item in ampules.

Other than that, the various currency exchanges (whale medals, life crystals, D-medals, special map medals, bond crystals) get updated every four weeks. The more important items in these shops (like whale equipment and D-tickets) never expire, so there's no need to worry about that, but when you're able to do their associated maps, it's recommended to clear out semi-rare stuff like ampules, bloom hearts (needed for unlocking second affection), second affection items and 100-year fairies from whale and special shops. However, life crystals should only be used to buy rainbow and gold skill flowers (which are very valuable), while bond crystals should be saved exclusively for D-medals, and D-medals for D-tickets that will be your main source of rainbow crystals. So the general trend is:

Life crystals: Buy rainbow and gold skill flowers, optionally buy bloom hearts and nation petals (if you really need them), save otherwise
Bond crystals: Only buy D-medals
D-medals: Only buy D-tickets
Whale medals: Buy bloom hearts, second affection items, ampules, fairies; optionally buy blooming birds, regular affection items, gold; otherwise save for whale equipment
Special medals: Buy ampules, gold and the cheaper set of third-tier equipment seeds; optionally the more expensive seeds (and equipment upgrade seeds if you want, but these are expensive and easier to get from the Aqua Shadow missions)
Gold: Usually not worth it, but can be considered as an emergency source of nation petals if you really want to bloom a specific girl

At least this is what I generally follow, others' opinions may differ. It should also be said that some of these exchange currencies are for more advanced teams (not quite endgame, but still requiring a solid roster of bloomed girls), so you may not want to bother with them yet. Lastly, despite the large number of exchange systems, most of these don't really require much grinding, so don't let the initial complexity (if you're new to FKG - sorry if you aren't) get to you.
