I haven't been in this thread in years and it's funny because I more or less made this same guide in May 2013 (I checked the archive). I would always post it and tell people to just save the image and leave the thread for their own good. Now I'm disappointed to see how this thread is even more active now and people use it as a hang out place. On the other hand it does give me an ego boost to know I've already accomplished what 90%+ of you will not.

so, a few days ago, i downloaded anki along with this deck:

as some guy recommended(pic related) but something seems wrong about the order in which i get the cards
one would assume to get cards with "watashi" and simple verbs first but instead i got things like "airplane" which is not only pretty useless at first but has a fucking complicated kanji as well
now, a few days in cards like "morning" and "son" suddenly appear which seem much more beginner-friendly

is there something wrong with my clientsettings or did i just download the wrong deck? help!
