New theory guys. Just thought of it. Kanon before going into the closed room with Rudolf and everyone else had a heart attack and quickly died. After "everyone else" was said to have been in the cousin's room lightning hit Kanon's body and jump started his heart. After reviving he looks up at the guest of honor's room and sees Battler screaming for help! He then proceeds to rescue Battler.
