edge is better by far but I wouldn't say it's perfumes best song.

to me it sound incomplete. have you ever seen the evolution of a yakushima etsuko song? they start catchy as hell and well-made but they feel unfinished. she later always remakes them and they sound great.

edge extended feels like that yet triangle mix doesn't live up to it. it great but it's repetitive I bring it down to a lack of imagination really or maybe he just didn't spend enough time on it.

it's arguable how much more industrial would have made it better but I doubt anyone would disagree that on the refrain after the second chorus he should have layed some industrial over it giving it a more hard jagged sound than it already had. the refrain is the best part of the song yet it felt so low energy in retrospect. and to add contrast it the second chorus should have just been nocchi and A-chan and then then the third with yuka.

not to mention the fact that they he didn't end on the ki ni naru like the short edge was the dumbest thing he done. he already knew to do it in the extended jelly yet he thought that an instrumental outro was the way to go which is straight up wrong.

edge is 9/10 in the worst possible way. if he made edge the way it deserved I wouldn't hate him today.

nakata's real masterpiece is macaroni for sure. it's perfect in everyway and can't be improved.

love the world and baby crusing love are neck and neck as singles, perfect album art, god tier songs the only thing that puts love the world ahead for me is the fact that it is the contrast between love the world and edge. the fact that they flow together yet are two different sounds of techno pop really defines the genre. if I were to show someone techno pop I'd show them love the world. if I wanted normies to think my favorate genre is good, I'd show them fake it and pick me up. but if you do this you are cancer
