Thanks Yuugianon. I have zero experience with sewing, so I'll have to work on the basics first before I make an attempt. I have probably a year or two to practice before I can buy another fumo, so I have plenty of time to learn. I'm just scared of sharp objects and getting stabbed with a needle.

If you're just interested in the setting and characters I'd probably recommend just reading the wiki (which is actually pretty decent) and the official written works (available on the wiki). otherwise just pick one of the windows games and play it since there isn't that much of a connected plot between the games.
I think I started with Mountain of Faith, but my favorite is Subterranean Animism but that's mostly due to me thinking it has the best music and my favorite cast
