This old hag is literally introduced for the sole purpose of helping Battler (and by extension you) figure out that because magic occurs on screen doesn't actually mean magic happened.

Yes, that's the point. Magic is an internal thing to Ange and she isn't able to impact reality with it. Whether or not magic is actually real is totally up in the air but it heavily implies that it's not real, even if Ange seeing her magic friends is something that happens. That's the entire point of the scene. You don't need to be autistic about le red truth memes.
