Luka is pure and was supposed to be the face of Crypton. She was supposed to ally hands in hands with GUMI for them to lead the Vocaloid world onto a better path.
They caught onto this however and decided to hurt Luka by giving her a purposely failed voicebank (V4X) in order to slow her down. You have to understand how chaotic the situation was within the Crypton offices: had they not do that, Luka would've blasted through the charts, picking up hurt GUMI alongside as it was meant to be, to shine alongside the stars, with no place for Miku to be.

Luka is a victim and she's now held prisoner.
