It's a subjective feeling, but I'd say:

* 2007 - 2009 : The starts; experimental, anime-eske, very linked to the doujin culture... but also the age of ryo and livetune, the two main pillars of this age. Miku is used in almost a monopolistic way.

* 2010 - 2012 : Luka and GUMI contributes to diversify the VOCALOID scene and make it more lively and rich. The age of Wowaka, who sadly retired after his first and only album.

* 2013 - 2015 : Many of the old producers retire (some in a physical manner) and the scene slow down. Many famous producers of today are born in this age, but they are still not well known. 39's Giving Day concerts are replaced by Magical Mirai. Luka partially retires to take care of Miku.

* 2016 - Today : New producers start to become famous (PinocchioP, Nayutan...) and the scene starts to recover, the music feels less experimental and more mature (this is subjective, of course). Miku definitively transcends the world of VOCALOID. Magical Mirai concerts are HUGE and Miku Symphony is born, attracting fans to classical music.
