The laughter was expected. The slamming of Reimu's fist on the table, not quite as expected, but still fairly likely. The coughing, slightly less likely, but not entirely unexpected given the laughing and the amount of tea that Reimu was drinking. The choking? Well, that was a bit less expected. And once Reimu's face started turning red and she began slamming her fist against the table in a rather different manner, I leapt over the table to thump Reimu on the back for a while, hoping that I wasn't about to become the envy of all youkai by killing the Hakurei Shrine Maiden by way of making her laugh just a little too hard.

Kagerou had panicked a little and offered to take her to Eientei, and Yamame had ran to get some water, but I figured that would only make the problem worse and trying to run through a load of snow to Eientei would be just as bad. Fortunately, Reimu started to recover a little after I'd been pounding on her back for a minute or two. "O-Okay, I-" She broke into another coughing fit, but it didn't progress any further this time. "I-I'm fine. F-Fine!" She took in a shaky breath. Yamame rushed back at that point with some water, and Reimu took it gratefully. "Thanks..." She forced out, taking a drink that thankfully seemed to go down just fine. "Ouch...I think you've broken my back! Might need to do that a little more gently in the future." I laughed awkwardly and apologized. I'd panicked, too. "Yeah, I get it...Thanks, though." That made me feel a little better. "S-So...She, uh, sleep-kidnapped you...?" That did seem to be about the size of it. "To some place in the Outside World called Finland?" Yamame, it seemed, had grasped the name far better than I had since I'd thought it was called 'Thin-Land'. "And..." Reimu cast a glance at Kagerou, then leaned in closer. "She really thought that you - You, I mean..." Yeah. I was fairly certain that she'd thought exactly that.

And off Reimu went into slightly unhinged laughter again.

She eventually recovered, though it took longer than I would have thought. "Sorry, just...I swear these stories get funnier each time. You should start writing them down." I had a feeling that Hearn probably wouldn't actually appreciate that much. "Ugh, no fun at all, she is." Deciding to change the subject, I asked Reimu what her story about Tenshi and Marisa was. "Ah. That." She nodded seriously. "So, you know how they were basically commanders in that war thing of theirs?" Yamame and I nodded, since Kagerou had laid her head down on her arm and seemed to be close to falling asleep. "Well...When I went over there, I found them having a fist fight in the middle of a big fight between the kappa and the yamawaro." Yamame and I had seen some of the way this had escalated, and privately, I wondered if she was just mad that they hadn't bothered to involve her in their escalating war game. "So, I beat them up all." Well, that was a given. "Then, I beat up Tenshi and Marisa." I had a feeling that she was simplifying the whole thing slightly. "And it was great! Since they're both idiots, you can whack them in the head a bunch and you don't have to feel bad about it at all!" I was more curious about all of the massive danmaku I'd seen being fired off everywhere. "Oh, er...Well, they both attacked me, so I just decided that I should probably stop them before they escalated again. Seemed to work out okay." Privately, I thought that this was because of Reimu's ability to do really good in fights when she was steaming mad. I'd heard about some of that from Lady Kasen in the Summer. It seemed like the more Reimu thought about what she was doing and wondered if it was the right thing to do, the worse she did.

"So, that fight we saw..." Yamame asked, sipping her drink. We'd been in the café for a while and gone through a fair number of drinks and some food by this point. "You won, I guess?"

"Obviously." Reimu replied, smirking. I asked her what she'd done with Tenshi and Marisa after that. "Well, see, that was the funny part. Did you know that they were both wearing weird experimental kappa and yamawaro gear? For all I knew, they were going to blow up the planet regardless of whether or not those attacks had hit. So, I broke it all." ...All? "Yeah. All the stuff they were wearing, then everything I saw that was made by either the kappa or the yamawaro. Can't trust those lot. Anyway, once I'd smashed everything I saw to pieces, everyone suddenly seemed a bit more friendly to each other." I blinked. Had Reimu just ended a war by walking in and simply breaking everything being used? I supposed that was one way to do it. "I don't think it was a very satisfying end for them." Reimu told me. "But at least it should prevent any problems in the future."
