As a hardcore nerd there's no point to talking IRL people. Anime and manga beyond mainstream shit? Seiyuu web radios? All I do is sit in front of my computer 24/7 while normalfags are working and building their families, so isn't a single common topic to talk about unless I dig back to elementary school days.
Every time I try working somewhere people treat me like some super serious person or an actual autist because I never laugh or smile naturally while in reality I'm just holding back because I know that if I tried talking about things I'm actually interested in they would get confused and like a freak (for a good reason).

On anonymous imageboards I can talk trash and make jokes and even if nobody gives a fuck, I don't have to feel bad about it. If I tried the same thing with real people, every failure would be a huge embarrassment that I would remember for the rest of my life.
