Obitsu's bodies fit most dolls as far as I know. When it comes to large dolls I really don't know much since I don't have one myself, but I know you get the hair as a wig. Have read something about the wig might stain the head so it's good to get some kind of protective cap. There are a couple of people on /jp/ with large dolls who propably know a lot more about some of the things you're asking about.

yeah that's pretty accurate. How expensive they are depends much on whether it's an auction, and how popular and rare the doll is. Both Azone and mamachapp sell their doll for about the same price, but Azones dolls are much easier to get since several places sell them, that even ship internationally. Some of Volks' dolls are very limited editions, some are only sold in Japan, and others are only sold at conventions I think. That pretty much explains the difference in prices.
