depends who you talk to really.
they have not been marketed like an idol group since 2009 and stopped being classed as Idol music when nakata made liner mortar girl. no idea what made him swap over to electro pop but it was a great choice as he is more experienced with it and it saved them

quite a few fedora tipping capsule fans still call them an idol group but in 2014 that couldn't be further from the truth, perfume is a greatly respected band by most people and have shown that they are not just a flavor of the month
