I thought part of the reason was that a lot of people hated Sanae when she came out and along with player 2/reskin/run out of ideas/the shitty rival jokes there was the slut one too.

I see the "Sanae is a slut" meme is still as alive as ever. It makes me all warm and fuzzy on the inside, as I'm one of the oldfags that saw the slut meme skyrocket back in early 2009.

That was five and a half years ago. Back then, everyone here started calling her a slut as soon as she was announced as a playable character for TH12. Hell, it got so big that she even surpassed Aya as the biggest slut of Touhou.

I did see a few guys calling her a slut in late 2008, but they mainly did it to poke fun of the "Sanae is a good girl" meme. Those heroes were few and far between back then.

Man, I miss the days when we could post NSFW images on /jp/. I remember the constant barrage of Sanae porn that used to flood this board back when the slut meme took off.
