I don't think that could be a good translation in any context, but I don't know the context so whatever. Either way the english translation of a VN doesn't matter here, it's a grammar guide and it's not doing the job of explaining わけ. He should have just taken a J-J dictionary and paraphrased it, it's a lot more sensible than his weird technical ideas about how it describes "one thing leading to another."

What are you talking about? I'm not saying the line is wrong in Japanese or English, just that it's a bad guide. No clue what you mean by being limited to one sentence or "the rules."
