I think Satoko set up a layered trap for Rika. She's playing her usual mind games. Her letting Rika realize the truth was carefully calculated act and so was the classroom scene's cliffhanger ending, though she might have gone a bit off the plan with the trap box reaction. Satoko couldn't predict Rika's action as easily as Keiichi's, but looper Satoko knows the real Rika.

When asked about "happy ending" in his Febri interview, the anime director avoided the question and said the ending is probably not what you expect, but it will be conclusive and the best ending.
