I can't believe people actually think it's a good idea to ban guns. I just can't see why they think that is a good idea. Have people not lived long enough in this world to realize that a perfect utopia is impossible and that criminals will always have guns regardless of whether they are banned or not?

Humanity is far from being capable of living in a world where nobody hurts each other. I know you don't want to live in the 'wild west', but wake up and smell the roses, everybody lives in the 'wild west'. Such is human nature. Don't fight against it, work with it.
