Ah, shitposters.

An all-time favourite bunch. All of them have been butthurt because of /jp/ one way or another at some point of time. Hilariously enough, all of them refuse to accept it with all their might. Also, the only posters to have kept their forum logic for so long. Again, none will admit it because they still think they are relevant.

What they were trying to do in the commercial was build up tension by showing obscured and partial views of the performer while the spokesperson delivers his little speech. It's supposed to build up until the performer finally breaks the tension by appearing suddenly in the center of the camera's view with immediate fanfare and a burst of whatever the fuck it is they're supposed to be about.

The problem is, they really chose the wrong thing for Miku to do at the moment of "final reveal" - an awkward scream. It was supposed to be some kind of equivalent to a band shouting "ARE YOU READY TO ROCK, D.C.!?" just before jamming on their instruments.

But hell, what the heck is Miku supposed to break dramatic buildup with? Does she have any iconic interjections or anything of the sort? What would you have broken the tension with?

Got a SNES at age five, started playing vidyagaems, first JRPGs being Mystic Quest and Final Fantasy 4.

Every now and then dad would let me stay up late and watch movie channels, usually when they showed old action movies like First Blood and Predator. Then I discovered anime, I think my first taste was something like Iria. Obviously I never got a chance to watch a whole series or OVA, but I was hooked.

Moved several times during high school, so I only ever got to know any group of friends casually for a few months. Revealing my power level was not something I would do, as I had learned harshly from middle school why you shouldn't do that.

Dropped out and got a GED after my third year in '04, played WoW for a year or two, then just worked for a while and discovered 4chan in late '06.

I'm still catching up with all the things that would be considered staples on /jp/ and /a/. It's really too much to take in all at once.
