I'm quoting the article about Vtubers on BBC Capital, by the way. Back then, I thought they were talking about the Kizuna Ai Fes she's mentioned a few times.
It's almost uncharacteristically competent for Ai's company. I mean, it's really well thought out. By releasing one song a week they make sure they always have one somewhere at the top in sales/plays rankings, it just takes a few thousand devoted fans. They might even get some more along the way, as the songs start taking spots. All this to culminate in a big concert at the peak of her popularity.

That said, as a fan of Vtubers I worry this might not help them much at all and instead it'd just be another landmark for Ai-chan.
