Everyone is different. And while I would say to be confident in what you like, I think it's also important to be smart about it.

Example: You don't care about what someone thinks about it, but they bring it up sometimes and it's kind of annoying. My parents shrug it off when they visit but they do think it's odd. If you think it would be easier to hide them than to explain, no harm in it.

Just as long as you aren't ashamed of yourself for liking it, you don't need to concern yourself with others.
