Actually, I've made a sure and documented test right now, and even my guesstimate was too high off the mark. I did say 6 stock per cast, but when I tested it (pic is the test per cast), it showed an average of 3 (!) stocks consumed per cast. If you would notice around the bottom, it suddenly became 4 stock per cast and then 2 stocks, I think this is because the actual stock consumption is something like 3.3.... ish. Which actually may imply that the cost is scaling, ever so slowly at that. As you can see, my Chaos Eye is already at level 7. Now I'm unsure of what the stock consumption was at exactly level 1, but if we assume that it starts from 3 stocks flat, it means that the scaling factor for 7 levels is a measly ~10%. Still very small, in my opinion.

I would also be interested in the level of your Chaos Eye spell, to see if it adds up.
