Saffron's main advantage is her exceptionally cohesive kit: Dodge synergizes with counter, which synergizes with defense up, and her abilities have some of the highest multipliers in their category so she can stall for ages while dishing out respectable damage from counterattacks. But as a defensive rainbow, she really needs extra stats for optimal performance (together with Kerria, she's probably the rainbow who benefits most from high ampules and unlocked equipment slots), so amping her is a must. In addition, the dodge-piercing in Re: Ume & Sakura means that her effectiveness is limited in that stage.

There are many die-hard Saffron fans, but I never really liked her kit (or her, I had expected a big tits drillhair ojou-sama from her teaser lines). She's still overwhelmingly popular, though, and I'll still ship her with Echinacea.

Congrats, but I really wouldn't recommend trying for multiple clears, since that 5-clear quest is only the tip of the iceberg. That quest line goes all the way to 25 clears, so not rushing that one is probably the wise course of action.
