Yes I saw the earlier post. I'm not quite ready to bandwagon something recent wacky and preliminary. What those guys are doing might be valuable as insight into how modern dogs came about, but don't hype the existence of their project as a factoid or something. If it was gonna get done, it already would be.

You know the whole nekomata thing (a la Chen, and Japanese mythology about multiple-tailed critters in general)? Well cats often do grow with split tails or outright more than one tail, and there's actually been some concern from animal welfare folks that some unscrupulous fad breeder might start breeding this into his stock, just to sell novelty kittens.
