well, I guess the makers didn't have the cash to enrich the game with DX11.1 grafix and kawaii voice acting. It's all battles, treasure gathering and occasionally a simple puzzle. maybe it is not the second coming of Christ, but a solid game.
You're clearly exaggerating with the grinding. Especially with weekend version you don't need to do that, at least not during the maingame
