Food is the number one topic in Japan, both in news and conversations. When I was there, they had these weird fucking morning shows where four TV celebrities would sit around with food they bought on the way to the studio, and then EAT IT IN FRONT OF THE CAMERA while going, "Oooh-ooh-waah" and "Aaah, oishiiiii!!!". And that was basically it, they just sat there eating, making noises to let people know if something was delicious or super delicious.

Turns out, she show was made so that normal people could learn how to react right to a certain product, because when I saw people on the street opening up one of the soft drinks that were always on the show, they'd stop right after the first sip and say the exact same phrase as those morning eater dickheads had said.

It's weird as fuck over there, but the food WAS delicious. And also everywhere. If you were on a gameshow, 9 out of 10 times you didn't win money, you won food. Either a big basket full of things like meat and imported American coffee, or a dinner in some local restaurant.

Food is all they think about.
