Ah, those were the days.
I watched the anime fearing imperialist propaganda. I watched Tetsumaru's LP on Youtube. I spent weeks reading the wiki trying to be prepared.
I remember waking up at 4AM to enter the lottery, and getting Yuubari as my first ever build. I sank poor Hatsushimo half asleep on our first sortie because I thought if you accidentally went ahead on red you just had to let them sink.
I cried myself back to sleep.
Then I found out when I came to later that day that it wasn't Hatsushimo, as I hadn't gotten her yet: I killed Mikazuki.
I was still sad, but not quite as much as at the thought of killing my adorable daughter on her first mission.
The only other ship that ever sank on my base was Maya, and that was my cousin's fault.
I've come a long way.
I remember trying to use Italia's gun on Maya Kai to do AACI and getting bitched out by you guys.
I remember thinking I'd never get past the first map of Spring 2015, then getting Kongou and pushing through to E4.
I remember my failure to save Teruzuki and get the Catapult in Summer 2015. I remember trying to farm for Graf and Prinz till I failed out of Fall 2015.
And I think Winter 2016 was the first event I completed.
And since then I've never looked back.
