Honestly, I kind of liked this. It really got across the idea that all of the events of Rokkenjima and the massive fucking tale that was all of Umineko up to Episode 8 was just a drop in the bucket of what's going on in the background. It was a single story in an endless city-sized library of books that Featherine picked out because she found it kind of interesting. Going into details about the the politics and society and hierarchy of witches and the mystery vs fantasy world would have been cool, but it wasn't necessary because neither Ange nor Battler needed to give a shit about it. They were just really really small fish in a really really large pond trying their best to keep the catbox closed.
