yes no shit sherlock I got what you meant.

my point is if you can link the song to sex through 1-2 lines and you can link a dissatisfactory life to both those lines and the others. don't you think the song is about the latter?

like even if lines were specifically made to reference meaningless sex, to even highlight it is to take away from the greater meaning.

as if not having sex would fix the issue.

what annoys me is the fact that the message is twisted and I'd feel comfortable saying even glorified by the tumblr audience. I'm not the type to cry and call people degenerates but this song is directly about living the same lifestyle as many people I've met on Tumblr and it doesn't don't focus on the aesthetic aspect of the lifestyle like many contemporary artists do but the melancholy of it.
to be surrounded by people all the time but to have no connections, to work hard for a living and make a lot of money but to have nothing to spend it on other than de-stressing and prepping for your next day at work.

I have no doubt that when Nakata wrote this he thought about all of the casual sex he had, but that's not what he was talking about. he was talking about his frustration as a whole.

I see it as an adult version of computer city which is about the exact same thing, being confined to a robotic lifestyle. while computer city functions more as a man fuck this world I want to be free take on the issue with Japan and being part of a hyper-consumerist society clockwork is more of a reflection on being part of the machine and how lifeless it makes you feel.

if you ask me clockwork is one of perfumes best songs, easily top 5 and that's without taking lyrics into account

I wish I could hold a city hostage and demand that yuka doesn't wear shorts under her skirt.
