No, no, no. Not abuse and not torture; those are almost invariably tasteless and bad. A good peril picture has the girl mostly, if not entirely unharmed, and bound up in some situation that will kill or otherwise harm her given time.
The focus of a peril picture is fear, not pain. A picture gets further from peril and closer to torture the more pain the girl feels.
