>her blonde hair and similarly colored tails seem more frayed and messy than the day before, but after the night the two of you had spent together, that was no surprise
>”You are welcome to stay as long as you would like, young kit.”
>you manage to pull yourself together after being momentarily stunned by the fox woman’s presence, one of her ears twitching as she steps onto the deck towards you
>”I didn’t think you would be so hasty to leave…”
>there’s a tinge of sadness in her voice as she says that, but her serene smile doesn’t falter, eyes still closed as she comes to rest beside you
>”I-I was actually just getting some air, I wasn’t leaving…”
>you trail off as the long-lived shrine maiden opens her eyes, crow’s feet uncreasing as her blue iris’ stare back at you
>the misunderstanding hangs in the air for a few moments, the two of you staring at each other, before her tails suddenly fluff themselves up, the fox woman sporting an even brighter smile than before
>”Wonderful. I shall get started on preparing breakfast, then.”
>before she leaves, she leans in to place a delicate kiss on your cheek, giggling to herself as she walks away, her steps more upbeat and hip movements more exaggerated than before
>your eyes can’t help but linger on her form, the older fox glancing over her shoulder with a suggestive smile on her lips as she disappears into the shrine
>perhaps it wasn’t such a bad idea to stay here for a little while longer…
