just finnished ノルウェイの森. overall liked it. solid 7/10. was a bit longer, if you don't count vns it is the longest thing i have read, also a suprisingly easy read. midori best girl. any recommendations on what to read next? thinking about reading something by yoshimoto banana. i prefer something contemporary, as i am scared of older books. also i would love to talk about ノルウェイの森

What great japanese lit do you guys recommend? I have read oreimo, haruhi, nhk ni youkoso, and ningen shikkaku. also others but I did not like any of them.

I want something romantic and maybe similar to lolita, my favorite book, any suggestions.

Thanks I am having a lot of fun reading it after really disliking the toradora ln. My personal favorite character song is under mebius. Honestly as a person who has never really read that much as a kid and up to now it has been fun discovering reading through these lns. I also even read a book in english recently, which was cool. I can't wait to start reading more literatureっぽい books in japanese.

Does anyone have any recomendations?

Just got a kindle, now I am no longer tied to my desktop to read. Anyone else ascended to reading all the time for pleasure?

It is a difference in mentality. If you sentence mine your are concerned with results, and are just skimming looking for i+1 sentences. If you are reading you are concerned with enjoyment. It has been proven that people learn best from compelling content.

Thats because it was subbed. just 1000 hours of raw and 10000 pages of japanese and you have a basic level of fluency. Keep at it friend, but the fact you have already watched 20000 hours of anime makes me worried that you might get bored of it before learning the language. But don't feel bad and I believe in you.

Daily reminder to not use anki as it is useless.

I mean after 100000 pages you should have watched like 10000 hours of anime and would be completely fluent. But 10000 pages and 1000 hours of anime is enough to understand spoken and written japanese no problem.
