Hi /jp/

I recently decided to visit a ramen restaurant when I was alone and depressed and needed a hot meal to warm me up and I realised that I have no idea how to use these spoons they seem to have at lots of noodle places (whether it's Chinese, Japanese, Viet, or whatever).

I've seen Japanese people place food on them and eat the food out of the spoon. I've tried this myself but I just end up slopping everything all over my face and dropping the food - to the amusement of the bitches working at the restaurant I visited today. As such, I normally just use it to drink the soup at the end.

Can someone give me some sort of gaijin procedure for this? It must be simple, but I just can't get the hang of it. I've got blood relatives in Japan and I'd like to be able to show that I've learned how to eat using Japanese utensils.
