Well, I got into anime after these things and never did any research. I saw there were some cross marketing, but I've not realized it was this big.

I understand why it bothers you. I just personally don't see cross marketing as something really bad as long as it's done with taste and don't make Miku looks bad/degenerative. It's arguable if pictures of her in underwear make her look bad, but I think it's not more sexual than necessary and her cute appeal shows way more than sexual.
On the other hand GSR is way different. Look at this abomination, it's way too lewd than necessary, her twintails are gone, her skin tone is changed and she even has things written over her body. It's like they whore her body for marketing and don't even try to hide it. This shit is a disgrace.
