All this lich and wizard talk is giving me some ideas

>Talented boy begins to study the art of sorcery at a young age
>Around the same time, a girl gifted in magic dies, and is resurrected as a lich
>They meet at some point, and begin to study their own fields of magic together as they grow
>While one has to adapt to wizardhood, the other has to adapt to being clinically dead
>They become friendly rivals, and enter into a bet
>One of them must claim the title of greatest magic user on the planet possibly by defeating the current title holder, like a lilim or something, but that's just an option. Maybe there's a magic council which awards the titles based on performance in certain tests
>The loser must become the winner's official assistant, to aid them in their endevours for 500 years
>On their way to claim the title, they prank and hinder each other
>Common pranks include temporary limb transmutation, literally putting surprise skeletons in the other's closets, and siccing various monstergirls on them through spreading rumours, or planting stolen treasures on the other's person
