Is there is a specific order (girls' routes) I'm supposed to play this game in? If so, can someone please list them?

I started playing Kanon and I'd like to do Nayuki's route first, but I'd be really pissed off if the situation is like Nagisa in Clannad, where you're supposed to do all the other routes before doing Nagisa's to get a full "true ending", hence the whole thing being a waste of time.

No spoilers please, though I'm expecting Nayuki to die since KEY seems to like doing that shit.

Why aren't you playing kanon? Its winter. playing this game.. makes me feel odd. I mean most of the time playing games from such a long time ago makes me feel odd. i mean think about it, on your old 1990s pc you could of played it if you lived in japan at a young age. it weird, i was playing pokemon blue or something around the time kanon came out. but man, this game just gives you weird feelings by just booting it up, its like a magical depressing feeling. its really the only key vn that does this, im not sure if air has the same feel but the others dont have it. Does anybody get me or am i weird?

Should i read all the routes in kanon /jp/? I read Ayus route many years ago during a winter and it just gives me a feel of the past..... should i wait till winter to play another route? Also its been 6 years since i watched the anime so i mostly forgot the other girls stories. plus since it was basically ayus route i guess the vns routes are a lot different. there is something about playing older vns like kanon, one, yu-no that make me feel like i wish i was more aware in that time, like i could of actually went on a old pc and played these games... I really wish air was translated.. I mean i here it is actually the best key vn. Also does anybody feel that they dont like keys new vns as much as the older ones? I feel like clannad wasn't as good as kannon and little busters is just doesn't have the same magic feeling that kanon has.. clannad and even more so with little busters just feel kinda of average or like it didn't could from the heart. Also the characters just are not as.. alive. Sometimes i cant believe its been 6 years since the anime of kanon, what was it like watching it with 4chan? I wasn't here for that.. hell i was still streaming back then. where did 4chan download there anime back then? same places like tokyo toshokan? what did you guys think of it then? Also did the patch of kanon come before the anime was out? I think i installed it around the time clannad was out. Does rewrite capture the "feeling and soul" of kanon or does it feel... dried out like little busters? Does anybody else have the same feelings as me or am i weird?

Ok so a friend suggested I start playing some VNs, so I dled Kanon and the english patch, but im stuck as to what to do. I've basically been a faggot my entire life, and never dled games, always bought them. So anyway its in an ISO file, and I have daemon tools atm so I can mount it and play, but its still in japanese (well I assume so windows XP wont let me install east asian languages). So what do I do to get it to english if anyone knows. If you don't know or just want to install me, feel free, but I would appreciate any help.

a friend and i are having an argument.

does the way Ayu act as one of lesser maturity, and the way Yuichi acts as an older brother type, put their love relationship in the position of that of "older brother / younger sister" ?

I recently got Kanon on the PC and then found out it has a PSP version which hasn't, as of yet, been translated. I know of one group called Enter The Wired ( http://enterthewired.org/ ) which have a translation project up for it. However it doesn't appear that the guy who is doing this is getting a lot done so I have decided to try and do it myself and if anyone wishes to contribute in any way then that would make things a lot quicker.

I'll be using the NDT translations which are already available for use on the PC version.

The website has a link to the forums, which has a thread on how to do all the editing so it's almost as if they want someone else to do it.

Anyway, if anyone is interested in helping out then please, send me an e-mail and we can arrange to meet up on an IRC channel or wherever.

Now that the final translation patch is out, is there a version of the voice patch that works with the game? I've tried searching for it, but have come up empty handed.

So I was lurking the internet after getting 100% on Clannad and decided to find one of Key's other works that was adapted into an anime I enjoyed.

I decided to go for Kanon. Before finding a torrent I looked for an English patch.

A group called NTD (Non-Directional Translations) just recently finished a complete English patch for Kanon standard edition making the game fully playable in English. I'm going to post links here for anyone interested in playing.

English patch from NTD:

And a reliable torrent:

http://isohunt.com/torrent_details/72231537/kanon?tab=summary

This torrent also seems to have the voice patch included so you don't have to worry about adding in voices manually.

To all anons interested, please enjoy this with me, but do so at your own pace, no need to rush just so you post about it here.

There's a pretty much finished translation of Kanon by this site, don't think it's been released though:

Any idea if/where I can download it?
