>Be traveling swordsman
>In Zipangu, the locals start talking amongst themselves and laughing about your weapon
>To them, it's a "crude, inelegant weapon fit for a barbarian"
>To you, it's a longsword with a lion-headed pommel gifted by a Marquis for your exemplary skills in fencing
"You there, confident with your blade?"
>Turn to see a Lizardman, dressed in the kimono with the standard daisho tucked into her obi, a flock of young women following behind their 'onee-sama'
>She smiles when you affirm that yes, you are indeed confident in your length and girth.
"I see... care for a duel, then?"
>Brushing off your attempt to get under her skin, she leads you to a ceremonial stage with its own officiant
>Drawing your sword to reflect her katana, you can hear locals starting to take bets over how many strokes it'll take her to best you
>Her smirk is the last thing she does before springing into action, dancing in a strange, cat-like kata
>Spinning out of the way of your strikes and assessing the situation, she lands a few quick and shallow slashes against your well-built arms and thighs
>The crowd cheers
"You are classless, your bushido lacking. I won't even have to break a sweat to defeat you."
>You've begun to notice the pattern, how she uses her tail as a counter-balance to the spins on the balls of her clawed feet
>That's when you do something the crowd, and the Lizardman wasn't expecting
>With your thick, padded leather you grip the sword by the blade, swinging the flat of your pommel at her
>Mid-spin she's too slow to react, taking the full brunt of the strike to her head, knocking her unconscious
>The peasants are crying foul, saying that you need to commit seppuku, that you should be hung from the torii arch of the nearby temple for such blasphemy against the sanctity of Bushido
>But, you can't hear them over the beating of your own heart, and the red haze threatening to overtake your vision
>It's one thing for these slant-eyed elitists to insult your own personal honor, but it's an entirely different story to insult the fighting that your adoptive mother taught you
>Her porcelain white skin marred ever so slightly with scars as ethereal claws danced in the grip of her blade

Is it wrong that I legitimately want a story where the Order are portrayed more like the Knights Templar or the Teutonic Knights during the Crusades in that they just absolutely fucking have zero tolerance for monster-kind and will kill them on sight? It adds, at least to me, a skewed moral compass because it's a combination of prejudice and paranoia absolutely nobody seems to touch up on in writefaggotry.

Though to be fair the only good Saracen is a dead one.
