>How many layers of fucked is the specific issue in question?
Like three or so, I think. I dunno for sure. I only do enough code archaeology to identify the main issue.

Speaking of which, here's another fun little bug.
This here is my wife Nue. I made her my wife by expanding the lover talent a little for funsies. I thought it would be easy by just adding another state to the lover talent to display a stronger relationship, but then I found out something peculiar about how the lover talent is handled.
Y'see, the lover talent is actually not treated as a simple 1/0 state. Instead, it's value is set to the character's ID. Presumably, this was intended to enabling identifying the player's lover by reading the value from the player's lover talent, though it's superfluous on the characters themselves.
Now, for the most part, setting this talent to a specific value isn't an issue, since most checks for lover are in the form of "TALENT:{X}:恋人", which accepts all nonzero values as true, but as you probably already guessed, not all japs got the memo.
There's a handful of cases where it checks the lover talent to an exact value of 1, which would only work with Reimu, and a couple of cases where its value is assigned to 1 directly, circumventing the main lover assignment function. This will inevitably cause issues somewhere.
These issues show up most prominently with Tsukasa, where the giga autist responsible made numerous checks to other characters' lover state to adjust the dialogue, and always does so by testing if the value is 1, so none of that code will ever be triggered under normal circumstances. But as nobody cares about the shitty pipe fox, this obviously doesn't make much of a difference.
